Personal Development – Anxiety management

Typical symptoms of anxiety include rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, irritability, stomach problems, muscular discomfort, and sweating. When these become severe they are called panic attacks. Often there are feelings of inability to cope with life, difficulty in concentrating and signs of avoidance of certain situations.

This course helps understanding of anxiety symptoms and how to prevent and control them. The approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural principles which explore the relationship between thoughts, behaviour and physical symptoms. The techniques learned will help challenge unhelpful thoughts whilst gradually enabling adaptable behaviour in anxiety-provoking situations. Relaxation is incorporated into each session.
