To achieve this, I will on average need to run 2.74 miles a day or 19.25 miles week.

Some of you might be thinking that’s not much of a challenge for someone who competed in the London marathon three years ago and used to go for a 10 mile run for fun…..WELL you would be wrong. Due to a number of excuses, I am at the lowest peak of fitness for quite some time. The main excuse being my tumble head first down a steep hill during airsoft whilst on my brother's stag do ( I am sure it was as hilarious to watch as it sounds).

I will be doing this challenge in aid of mental health awareness. Mental illness will unfortunately affect many of us at some point in our lives; be it ourselves, a family member or a friend.

Many of you may not be aware of this but there have been various points in my own life that I have gone through periods of time not feeling quite ‘myself’, as if there has been a cloud hanging over me. Fortunately, I have a loving wife, family & friends around me to provide the love and support that I need to pull me through.

Unfortunately, the stigma attached to mental health means that many find it too difficult to talk & seek the support that they need. It is thanks to the increasing awareness and hard work going on around this topic that is slowly but surely breaking this stigma down.

Every penny raised by this challenge will go towards ‘Mind’ who are doing vitally important work in the field of mental health and ensuring that more and more people know that it is OK to talk.

I will be tracking all running through a new Nike running account and updating this page regularly

Thank you all for any donations you are able to make.
