About the group

The Three Rivers LGBTQ Peer Support Group enables adults to share their experiences and stories in a safe and confidential space. The group provides a sanctuary for LGBTQ people - a safe space where they can be themselves, free from discrimination, sharing experiences, learning new skills and improving their quality of life.

The group provides:

  • A safe place to talk about feelings and experiences
  • Peer to peer support
  • Advice and information
  • An opportunity to build social networks
  • Signposting to other organisations and activities
  • Guest speakers on topics decided by the group
  • Support to build resilience and learn tools and techniques to promote wellbeing

The group meets on a monthly basis in the Three Rivers district and the sessions take place in the evenings to ensure that they can be accessed by as many people as possible, including those in employment and education.

The group is facilitated by two Hertfordshire Mind Network workers who provide support and help to facilitate discussions and activities.

The group helps to combat loneliness and isolation by enabling people to connect with each other and share their experiences and build support network.
