Light Touch Telephone Support Volunteer Purpose of role The Light-Touch Telephone Support service was launched in response to Covid-19 and helps individuals to cope with loneliness and isolation caused by lockdown restrictions. Short weekly calls from a volunteer provide individuals with access to some light-touch emotional support and the opportunity to discuss ways to manage their mental health and wellbeing during lockdown. Time commitment A minimum of 1 hour per week Location Home based. Please note: you must have access to the internet and to a phone that can switch to private setting. Main tasks Providing light-touch emotional support to clients via phone Advising clients of provisions and services locally Flagging to HMN if the client needs any additional support Providing practical support such as learning activities and wellbeing practises and links available to service user at home Reporting back to the Volunteer Coordinator via email/phone on the clients’ progress Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to a member of staff Attending online group supervision sessions every 6 weeks Role Description Become a volunteer Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form
