About this course

Relaxation techniques are useful tools for coping with stress and promoting long-term wellbeing by slowing down the body and quieting the mind.  When incorporated into your daily routine relaxation techniques can significantly reduce stress and anxiety and lead to a healthier perspective on life.

Course aims and objectives

  • Learn how depression and anxiety create barriers to being able to relax
  • Develop relaxation skills and techniques to help manage stress, anxiety, sleep problems and pain
  • Develop and understanding of breathing techniques and how they can positively affect your mood

Course format

This course is six 2 hour sessions over six weeks in a small group.  A qualified tutor will teach techniques and lead discussions in an informal, safe and supportive environment where you can explore current and new skills to incorporate into your daily life to help break the cycle of anxiety and stress.
