Join us Volunteer with us Speakeasy Purpose of role The Speakeasy service is a 12 month pilot with Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) and Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT). We are seeking volunteers to work as Peer Mentors to support males aged 18 – 65 who and are going through a period of crisis and have been identified as high risk for suicide. The Speakeasy service will offer an additional non-statutory service to complement existing HPFT and non statutory services. Peer Mentors will provide solution-focused support in the community that encourages, motivates and builds an individuals self esteem and confidence. Time Commitment Minimum of 2 hours per week (evening and weekend volunteering available) Location Upper & Lower Lea Valley (Ware, Cheshunt, Broxbourne) Main tasks To provide informal support to service users they are working with To support service users to access services that will enhance their care To recognise and communicate risk issues to the coordinator and wider HPFT care teams To identify associated carer needs and refer to the relevant care team for carers assessments and support To attend supervisory meetings with Peer Mentor Coordinator and HPFT representatives as required To raise any safeguarding concerns appropriately Use Recovery Star
