About our Student Placements

At Hertfordshire Mind Network we offer the opportunity for students to complete placements with us as part of your studies.

This is an ideal opportunity for an undergraduate/postgraduate to join Hertfordshire Mind and support the team in a variety of roles, including Group Facilitation, Peer Mentoring and Administration, as well as supporting clients through our Nightlight, Stepping Stones and Complex Needs services.  We are able to offer bespoke placements to suit your areas of interest (subject to capacity) so please take a look at the services that we offer on our website.

Why do your placement at Hertfordshire Mind?

  • Understand how a mental health charity operates in the local community
  • Increase your understanding of mental health conditions
  • Work directly with clients
  • Shadow staff in Initial Assessments and Peer Support sessions
  • A great team environment with a designated member of staff to support you through your placement
  • The opportunity to attend in-house training at Hertfordshire Mind
  • Support people in your local community experiencing a variety of mental health conditions

"Thank you for the support, the encouragement, the room for growth, mistakes and constructive criticism. Thank you for pushing me and affirming me every step of the way."
