What we do For adults Groups and activities Mums Matter Because Being a Mum is Hard Enough Mums Matter is a perinatal mental health service designed and developed by mums for mums. The service aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of new mums by empowering them with knowledge and understanding of perinatal mental health and expanding social networks. Mums Matter is a facilitated peer support group made up of eight sessions. The overall aims over the service are: Raise awareness and understanding of perinatal mental health problems and symptoms among mothers and their support network Tackling common myths and assumptions around motherhood and parenting Providing support that addresses the wellbeing of mothers so they are better able to look after themselves and their baby Mums Matter supports mums with children aged 0-24 months to manage the everyday, nurture themselves and dispel the many myths.
