Hertfordshire LGBTQ+ Health & Wellbeing CIC and Herts Pride are excited to be supporting this new weekly online Zoom meeting group in partnership with Hertfordshire Mind Network. The Zoom meetings will be run by a LGBTQ+ facilitator and hosted by LGBTQ+ Herts Pride and CIC volunteers and allies. These groups will have a mix of wellbeing and social support meetings.

About the group

The group will provide a sanctuary for the LGBTQ+ community, providing a safe space, free from discrimination, where you can share experiences, learn new skills and improve your quality of life.

The group will provide:

  • A safe place to talk about feelings and experiences
  • Peer to peer support
  • Advice and information
  • An opportunity to build social networks
  • Signposting to other organisations and activities
  • Support to build resilience and learn tools and techniques to promote wellbeing

The group will take place in the evenings to ensure that they can be accessed by as many people as possible, including those in employment and education.

The sessions will be delivered by Hertfordshire Mind Network staff who will provide support and help to facilitate discussions and activities. The sessions will also be supported by LGBTQ+ Herts Pride and CIC volunteers and allies.

The group will help to combat loneliness and isolation by enabling people to connect with each other, share their experiences and build a support network.

Please note these sessions are for Hertfordshire residents.

Group time

Mondays from 6.30pm – 8.30pm (taking place over Zoom)

Statement of Support

LGBTQ+ support online services with Hertfordshire Mind Network 2020

Hertfordshire LGBTQ+ Health & Wellbeing CIC and Herts Pride are excited to be supporting this new weekly online Zoom meeting group in partnership with Hertfordshire Mind Network.

We know our LGBTQ+ family has above average mental health needs but until now there has been no specific service for the community in Hertfordshire. We recognise this could be the start of a great new service for support and a new way of accessing other services of Hertfordshire Mind Network.

We are also pleased the Zoom meetings will be run by a LGBTQ+ facilitator and hosted by LGBTQ+ Herts Pride and CIC volunteers and allies. These groups will have a mix of wellbeing and social support meetings.  During these new and difficult times, a lot of us will benefit from a service like this.

We look forward to welcoming you to this new service.
