The Great Big Walk for Herts

We’re proud to be taking part in the Great Big Walk for Herts once again – a special event bringing together 12 local charities to walk the full 180-mile Hertfordshire Way in a single day. Each charity will take on a different leg of the route to raise vital funds for children and young people across the county.

At Hertfordshire Mind Network, we support over 10,000 children and young people each year – and with your help, we can reach even more. What’s more, every donation will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of the Chaldean Estate.

I now have the ability to recognise and acknowledge when I’m in need of a break and when to speak up if something is no longer serving me. I can put my mental health first

Walk with us

We’re looking for enthusiastic walkers to join us – could that be you?

Everyone is welcome: bring your friends, family, colleagues, and even your dog!

This year, we’ll once again be walking the beautiful Shenley loop – a 13-mile circular route starting and finishing at The Café in the Orchard at Shenley Park, with plenty of scenic views and a relaxed pace.

  • Start time: 10am
  • Finish: Around 4–5pm (with breaks and a lunch stop)
  • Highlights include: Harperbury, Colney Street, Ver-Colne Valley Walk and Letchmore Heath

Whether you’re walking in memory of someone, for your own wellbeing, or just to support a good cause – we’d love to have you with us.

Make a difference

Every penny raised will go directly towards supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people across Hertfordshire.

A huge thank you to Helping Herts and the Chaldean Estate for making this event possible.
