At Herts Mind Network, we want to do more for Care Leavers. Alongside the support our wider teams already provide, we offer dedicated help with employment and mental health in the workplace – shaped around you and what you need to thrive.

How can we help

Employment and volunteering

As a signatory of the Care Leavers Covenant, we guarantee an interview to Care Leavers who meet the minimum criteria for any of our roles.

Roles are varied, from supporting people in the community or our Wellbeing Centres to working in our central teams, including administration, marketing and finance. Please see our vacancies

We also offer a range of volunteering roles. This is a great way to explore different services, build experience and develop skills in an area that interests you. Full training is provided, along with ongoing learning, support and guidance from a named member of staff.

Once you are with us, we continue to offer mental health support tailored to you. We can help with challenges linked to work, education or training, and support you to build confidence for the future.

This is open to Care Leavers who are aged 18 and over.

One-to-one support

We also offer support to Care Leavers who need support prior to finding employment. This can help in your journey; discovering where your strengths lie and what you might want to pursue for work. We will look at what challenges you might face once working, as well as learning coping strategies for them. All of this aims to build your confidence to be successful and workplace ready.

Our staff have experience in recruitment and line management, as well as mental health and emotional wellbeing support, to help guide you from personal knowledge.

This is through professional referral only.
