Herts Mind Network provides a professional service that ensures every client is treated with respect and care.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a confidential one to one talking intervention which can help to bring about positive and constructive change. Counselling aims to support individuals to find their own answers and to gain increased control of their life and relationships. Counselling can help with a number of different issues including bereavement, relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, low self-confidence, childhood trauma and depression.

Who can access the service?

Anyone aged 18 years and over.

Our counsellors

The counsellors are trained and receive regular supervision. They are all committed to on-going professional development.

Is the service confidential?

All personal information disclosed to a counsellor is confidential. No information can be disclosed to a third party without an individuals’ prior permission except in exceptional circumstances, e.g. a statutory obligation or if there were serious concerns around the individuals’ safety and well-being or that of another person.

How much does it cost?

A scale of charges based on income will be discussed and agreed with you in the first appointment.  This will range from £10 – £40 per session. A small number of low cost appointments are also available. Please note we do require payment for appointments not attended or those cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment time.

How do I make an appointment?

Call us on 02037 273600 to register your interest in making an initial appointment. Initial appointments are available quickly and at this appointment you will be allocated the next appropriate and available counsellor. Up to 10 sessions of counselling can be provided with each appointment usually lasting approximately 50 minutes. Appointments are held at the same time each week.

If our counselling service is not the right service for a clients’ needs Herts Mind Network will offer advice regarding alternative appropriate support.
