Festive Fundraising Ideas!

Over the last 18 months, many people have been coping extraordinarily through difficult circumstances as a result of the pandemic, but we know the impact that just coping alone without support or the opportunity to heal can have on our mental health. By fundraising for Hertfordshire Mind Network this festive season, together we can make sure we can be there to help everybody dealing with the trauma of the pandemic both now and into the future.

The help and support I’ve received has been brilliant & amazing.  Everyone’s been extremely supportive giving me the help I need during this difficult time.

With the season of goodwill just around the corner we thought we would take this opportunity to share with you some festive fundraising ideas – from gift wrapping to Christmas jumpers, concerts to raffles  there is something for everyone.  We are here to support you with your fundraising so please take a read and get in touch!

Christmas Cards

Instead of posting out cards this year, make a donation to Hertfordshire Mind Network!  Let your friends and family know instead of buying cards you are supporting your local mental health charity by sending them one of our festive greeting e-cards free of charge!

Gift-wrapping

Everyone needs their presents wrapped, but it’s a time-consuming job.  Why not offer to wrap presents for friends, family members, neighbours or work colleagues in exchange for a small donation!

Ebay your clutter away before Christmas

Now is a good opportunity to declutter! Sell your clutter on Ebay, or go to a website like Music Magpie, which will give you cash in return for your old CDs and DVDs. Donate the money you make  to Hertfordshire Mind Network.

Santa Walk or Run

Spread some Christmas cheer by challenging family and friends to pull on a Santa hat and run or walk a festive 5k. If you use Strava, you can link your account to your JustGiving page so your sponsors can see your achievements. Why not try drawing a Christmassy shape with your running route?

Christmas jumper day

Many people love wearing festive jumpers so this is a fun and easy fundraising idea. You can make it into a contest with colleagues or with friends, where people have to pay to enter and there’s a vote on the best jumper.

Mince pies and mulled wine evening

Have a festive evening with friends and family where everyone can enjoy tasty festive treats. Even better, make the mince pies together!

Christmas concert

If you have hidden talents, don’t hide them! Organise a concert or a talent show for your local community. It’s your time to shine!

Christmas bake-off

Have a Christmas-themed baking session. You can organise it and provide baking ingredients, or get creative yourself and sell treats to fundraise. Everyone loves a good bake sale!

Christmas raffle

A classic way to fundraise and another great add-on to boost your fundraising at bigger events. Don’t forget to let us know and we can organise a Letter of Authority for you to take around local businesses when requesting donations.

Movie night

There’s nothing better than feeling cosy at this time of year. If you’ve got a large space like a school hall, a village hall or your regular meeting place, you could hire a projector and set up your very own cinema. Complete the evening with cosy blankets, cushions and plenty of popcorn.

Hopefully this has given you some inspiration, remember we love to hear from you so if you have any fundraising planned over the festive season (or beyond!) then please do get in touch.  We would be more than happy to provide fundraising materials including collection buckets, leaflets and stickers and all fundraisers will receive one of our lovely HMN t-shirts!  If you are setting up a fundraising page please consider doing it via our website where 100% of the proceeds come directly to us! https://www.hertsmindnetwork.org/support-us/fundraise-for-us/
